The First Glorious Mystery
using scriptures from the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS

Meditation: As it says in 1 Cor. 15:20-27, "Christ has been raised from the dead.... For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be given life."

Pray the "Our Father" slowly, listening to and meaning each word. Give special emphasis to "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." We admit that because of our sinfulness, we inherit death from Adam and we need God's forgiveness. But we enter into Christ's resurrection and receive eternal life as we forgive others, for it is in giving that we receive. Did Mary forgive those who tortured and killed her Son? She held no grudges as she wept at the foot of the cross and then as she held the lifeless body of Jesus in her arms. Her soul proclaimed the resurrection glory of God as she made the decision to forgive.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven...

Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Hail Mary, full of grace...
Glory Be ...Glory be to the Father ....
Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell;
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those most in need of Your Mercy.
