Welcome to a PILGRIMAGE OF FAITH, a virtual
experience of walking in the footsteps of Jesus!
Have you ever visited friends after they
went on vacation and you were forced to sit through hours of viewing their
slides or videos ("Here I am standing in front of the restaurant.
Here I am standing in front of our hotel. Here I am standing in front
of a bored donkey. Here I am standing in front of ....." snore)?
Well, this Virtual Pilgrimage is a virtual slide show, and you can turn
it off at any time and no one will ever know ("virtually" no
one, that is!). There are lots of pictures, and this could take some time
to get all the way through, but it's designed not to bore you with where we have been. It's designed to fascinate you
with a personal experience of spiritual growth as you get in touch with
what it really means to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
Visually, you cannot see what it was really
like in Jesus' day, because 2,000 years have passed and churches have
been built over most of the places where key events in Jesus' life occurred.
But spiritually you can still get in touch with what it was like for Jesus
when He walked through Israel and Galilee. That is part of the pilgrimage
experience.
This pilgrimage is about tuning in to
God, every moment, in every activity, to receive special gifts, insights,
favors, growth, and communication and intimacy with Him. To make this
a true spiritual pilgrimage, open yourself to Him in each and every moment
as you look at each picture and read every scripture, narrative and prayer.
This is a time of GRACE; He will give you more than what you normally
receive from Him in the activities of everyday life. To merely look at
the sites as a tourist is to waste a very special opportunity.
If you want to exit the tour and return
later for more, remember to bookmark the page (put it in your "favorites" folder) where you left off.
May God bless your journey! Shalom!

Day 1:
Join us in anticipation of the trip
upon which we are about to embark! Eat breakfast with me and my
husband Ralph, daughter Tammy, and fellow pilgrims Father Ed and
Helen, at Tampa International Airport as we wait to board the plane
to Tel Aviv.

Whenever you see a clickable picture (it
will be outlined), use it to hear a sound-effect!
 |
At 12:15 PM (Tampa
Time), we begin the long fifteen-hour-plus journey to Tel Aviv's
Ben Gurion Airport. Sometimes I cry out, "Are we there yet?" but it turned out to be very much worth whatever suffering we
had to endure.
Lord, help me to see my sufferings
as blessings instead of curses to get rid of.
