Day 9, Monday:

We begin our last day in the Holy Land by celebrating Mass in the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsamane.

Then we visit the Garden Tomb, which was discovered about 100 years ago. Some believe the theory that this is the actual place where Jesus was buried. Many tour groups overlook this beautiful garden, because the Church has honored the Church of the Holy Sepulchre as the true burial location for two millennia, but even if this garden does not the true tomb of Jesus, it shows us what it would have looked like in Jesus' day.

chirp, chirp go the sparrows!

At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there. (John 19:41-42)
